Guides Against Poaching

The Guides Against Poaching initiative has been set up to help, assist and support primarily, but not exclusively the Zimbabwe Professional Guides Association (Z.P.G.A.) Membership in their conservation efforts against poaching and the protection of wildlife throughout Zimbabwe. 

OUr Vision

To set up a support system for our Z.P.G.A. members run by our Z.P.G.A. members who will be used to lead the G.A.P. initiatives. Our members are well versed not only in the geographical areas of operation but also in the areas of discipline and will be competent to provide the required level of support. 

G.A.P. Objectives

To support and assist in any activities that is for the betterment of wildlife to include protection and longevity of wildlife areas as a whole, the primary areas of focus will be: 

  • Ranger support, training & deployment
  • AP Excursions
  • Wire removal
  • Community Projects
  • Human wildlife conflicts
  • Problem animal control

G.A.P. and TAKE ACTION

G.A.P. has no intention of setting up or disrupting already in place A.P.U.’s rather G.A.P. will look to support already in place projects with the intention of enhancing those projects and promoting the success achieved. Take Action is representative of one of the many such partnerships that G.A.P. has formed.

Process of applying for G.A.P. assistance

  • Only emailed requests sent to admin@guidesagainstpoaching.com supplying the below criteria will be considered.
  • Applicants will need to define the level of help required
  • A proposal outlining the "Duration and locations of assistance" that will be required
  • Applicants should state the existing & current situation with regards to their own existing A.P.U
  • Define if the application is part of a Conservancy or is the applicant applying in an individual capacity? 
  • Applicants will be required to house and accommodate our patrol for the duration of the project? 
  • Applicants must declare any other funding for anti-poaching they may have had in the past 12 months.

what does G.A.P. require of the applicant?

Once G.A.P assistance has been provided we ask that the benefactor showcases G.A.P. in terms of branding and provide G.A.P with any social media advertisement post assistance.
